It was rather short, but I had big trouble completing it as it was quite ridiculous and it felt rushed. I expected something like Masters and Mercenaries series by Lexi Blake but what I got was not even close. I gave it 2 stars but will try the second book once it comes out as I liked the idea of the assassins club.
Hopefully it won't be such a disappointment as this one was. May 26, Tate rated it liked it Shelves: assassins. DNF for me I just wasn't into it May 25, Shaly rated it liked it Shelves: alexa-dawn. I found the preview for this book at the end of Hostage, by Jamie Begley and it was super interesting so I purchased it and while not the best assassin book I've read, it wasn't the worst neither.

My first read by this author and while the storyline was super interesting and I will admit the book was a very fast paced, engaging read, I was a bit disappointed at the ending. It was so abrupt and anti climactic, rather boring honestly. Scarlets character was awesome, she knew how to put her foot down to make sure no one took what was rightfully hers and she did it without being nasty or a bitch. She was tough, even if on the inside she was scared shitless!
I mean you have assassins that are super alpha and mega hardcore, no one nor anything scares them, but Shadow while being an alpha in his own right, totally acknowledged when he was nervous and even scared, that's a bit of a game changer. Overall I did enjoy this read, even if some things seemed rushed, it was a good and positive start to a new series. Book made me feel bipolar Another book to give me whiplash. I think I need to make an appointment with a chiropractor. I didn't like Shadow for the longest time. His reactions were all over the place, Scarlets's were as well.
He made her mad, then aww she felt bad and blamed herself, he did the same thing.
I'm giving this 3 stars because it did have a plot and I stuck with it through the end, without nee Book made me feel bipolar I'm giving this 3 stars because it did have a plot and I stuck with it through the end, without needing to skim.
